H1: Specialist cleaning for hotels and restaurants
A boutique hotel near Bristol Harbourside phoned us on a Saturday morning last October. A guest had been sick in the lobby. Not a small incident. The carpet, two upholstered chairs and the reception desk surround were all affected. They had a wedding party checking in at 2pm.
We got there by 10:30am. Extracted the carpet, steam-cleaned the upholstery, sanitised the hard surfaces, treated the area with an enzyme-based odour neutraliser. By midday the lobby looked and smelled normal. The wedding party checked in and never knew anything had happened.
Hospitality runs on first impressions. When something goes wrong in a guest-facing area, you don’t have until Monday to sort it out. You have hours. Sometimes less.

The Hospitality Cleaning Problem
Your housekeeping team and kitchen porters handle the daily cleaning. They’re good at it. But there’s a category of cleaning that falls outside daily operations and needs different equipment, different chemicals, and different expertise.
Extraction ducts caked in grease. Lobby carpets that look tired despite regular vacuuming. Mattresses that need deep sanitisation. Kitchen floors where the non-slip surface has disappeared under a film of carbonised fat. Curtains and upholstery that haven’t been properly cleaned since the last refurbishment.
These problems build gradually. You stop noticing them because you’re in the building every day. Your guests notice immediately.
And then there are the emergencies. A pipe bursts in a guest room at 3am. Someone has an incident in the restaurant. A kitchen drain backs up during Saturday evening service. Your regular cleaning team isn’t set up for that. We are.
If you’re running a bed and breakfast with three rooms and need someone to scrub the bathroom tiles once a quarter, we’re probably more than you need. A good local cleaner will do that job well. We’re here for the hotels, restaurants, pubs, event venues and hospitality businesses where the scale, the urgency, or the compliance requirements need specialist capability.
Services for Hotels and Accommodation
Guest room deep cleaning
Beyond a standard housekeeping turnover. Mattress sanitisation (dust mite treatment, stain extraction, deodorising). Carpet deep cleaning with hot water extraction. Upholstery cleaning on headboards, chairs and curtains. Bathroom descaling, grout cleaning and silicone renewal. We work room by room, floor by floor, fitting around your occupancy schedule.
A hotel on Broad Street in the Old City books us twice a year for a rolling programme. We deep clean 10 rooms per visit over two midweek nights when occupancy is lower. Every room gets done twice a year without taking any rooms out of service during peak periods.
Lobby and public area restoration
First impressions. Carpet cleaning and restoration in reception areas, corridors, stairways and function rooms. Hard floor cleaning, polishing and sealing for marble, stone, tile and wood. Upholstery cleaning on lobby furniture. Window and glass cleaning for entrance areas.
The carpets in hotel corridors take more punishment than almost any other commercial flooring. Wheeled luggage, foot traffic, spills. Hot water extraction every six months keeps them looking right. Leave it longer and you’re heading towards replacement.
Laundry and housekeeping areas
Washing machine descaling, tumble dryer vent cleaning, folding area sanitisation, linen store deep cleaning. These back-of-house areas are easy to neglect. But damp, warm laundry rooms are ideal conditions for mould growth. We’ve treated mould in hotel laundry rooms in Clifton and Redland where the extraction hadn’t been serviced in years.
Services for Restaurants, Pubs and Bars
Commercial kitchen deep clean
This is our bread and butter in hospitality. Extraction canopy degreasing, ductwork cleaning back to bare metal, grease trap emptying, floor and wall sanitisation, equipment degreasing. Full EHO compliance documentation with before and after photographs for your HACCP file.
Bristol’s Environmental Health Officers know what they’re looking at. A kitchen that looks clean at floor level but has grease-clogged ducts won’t pass. We clean the parts you can’t see and give you the evidence to prove it.

Restaurant and bar area cleaning
Carpet extraction, upholstery cleaning, hard floor restoration, bar top and counter refurbishment. Booth seating in restaurants collects food debris, drink spills and general grime in places your staff can’t reach with a cloth. We strip booth cushions and deep clean the frames and bases.
One pub near the top of Park Street has us in every January after the Christmas rush. The carpet in the dining area takes a beating from November through New Year. Hot water extraction and a stain treatment brings it back. Better than replacing it every two years.
Outdoor dining and terrace cleaning
Pressure washing of patio areas, decking, furniture and canopies. Bristol weather means algae and moss build up fast on outdoor surfaces. Slippery decking is a liability issue, not just an appearance problem.
Emergency Response for Hospitality
Things go wrong during service. That’s the nature of hospitality. A sewage backup, a burst pipe, a guest incident, a kitchen fire. You can’t close and wait until Monday.
We provide emergency response during trading hours. Call 07985 505061 and tell us what’s happened. For Bristol city centre venues, we can often be on site within the hour. For sites further out, within two to three hours.
What we handle at short notice:
- Bodily fluid cleanup in guest-facing areas
- Flood and water damage in guest rooms
- Kitchen drain overflows during service
- Odour incidents (sewage, gas, cooking)
- Broken glass cleanup in large-scale incidents
- Post-incident carpet and upholstery restoration
We work discreetly. No branded vans pulling up at the front entrance. No loud equipment in the lobby during afternoon tea. We come in, fix the problem, and leave without your guests knowing we were there.
Personally, I think the biggest mistake hospitality businesses make with emergencies is waiting. A red wine spill on a hotel carpet at 7pm is a minor clean at 7:15pm. By the next morning, it’s a permanent stain. Same with bodily fluids, food spills and water damage. The faster you call, the better the outcome. Every time.
Our Process for Hospitality Clients
Step 1: Site walkthrough
We visit the venue and walk through every area with the manager or facilities lead. Hotels need us to see the guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house and kitchen. Restaurants need us to understand the kitchen layout, dining areas and any outdoor spaces. We scope the work based on what we see, not a standard template.
Step 2: Work around your business
Hospitality never stops. Hotels have guests 365 days a year. Restaurants close for a few hours between services. Pubs might have one quiet morning a week. We schedule around your operation. Kitchen deep cleans happen overnight, after final service. Guest room work happens on low-occupancy days. Public area cleaning happens in the early morning before guests come downstairs.
Step 3: Cleaning to your standard
Every hospitality business has its own standard. A five-star hotel in Clifton expects different things from a high-street pub. We match the standard you need, whether that’s white-glove inspection-grade or practical deep cleaning that makes the space function better.
Step 4: Documentation
For kitchen deep cleans: HACCP-ready certificates, before and after photography, COSHH data sheets. For accommodation: room-by-room reports showing what was done. For insurance claims (flood, fire, vandalism): detailed documentation for your loss adjuster. You get paperwork you can actually use.
Why Hospitality Businesses Choose BCH
We don’t disrupt your guests. Quiet equipment, discreet access, no branding visible from guest areas. We’ve cleaned hotel lobbies while guests walked through and they didn’t notice.
EHO compliance is built in. Kitchen deep cleans come with the documentation your inspector expects. Before and after photography, product data sheets, cleaning certificates. Bristol City Council’s food safety team has seen our reports. They know the standard.
Emergency response that works. Not a promise to call back on Monday. An actual response during trading hours. We carry extraction equipment, sanitisation products and PPE in our vans at all times. When you call, we come.
£2M insured through AXA. Covers us for working in occupied hotels, restaurants and licensed premises. We’re insured for the equipment we use, the chemicals we carry and the work we do on your property.
25 years of hospitality cleaning. We’ve cleaned boutique hotels in Clifton Village, chain restaurants on Cabot Circus, independent pubs along Gloucester Road and wedding venues in the North Somerset countryside. We’ve worked with general managers, head chefs, facilities managers and owners. We understand that your reputation is the business, and a dirty venue damages it.
We’re not perfect. Occasionally we’ll misjudge a timeline or a product won’t shift a stain on the first pass. But we tell you. We don’t pretend a problem is solved when it isn’t, and we come back if something needs a second treatment. Honesty costs nothing. Hiding problems costs you guests.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a hotel deep clean cost?
It depends on room count, the scope and the condition. A 10-room boutique hotel deep clean (rooms plus public areas) might run £1,500 to £3,000. Larger hotels are quoted room by room. Kitchen deep cleans for hotel kitchens typically run £1,000 to £2,500 depending on extraction system length. We quote after a site visit.
How often should restaurant kitchens be deep cleaned?
Industry guidance says extraction systems in high-use kitchens (charcoal grills, wok cooking, deep frying) need cleaning every three to six months. Standard restaurant cooking, every six to twelve months. Your EHO will expect to see cleaning records showing regular maintenance. We can set up a schedule that fits.
Can you clean hotel rooms while guests are staying?
We deep clean vacant rooms. We wouldn’t deep clean a room with a guest’s belongings in it. For rolling programmes, we work with your front desk team to schedule rooms during vacancy windows. Most hotels have predictable low-occupancy periods (January, midweek in shoulder season) that work well for this.
Do you provide carpet cleaning for large areas?
Yes. We use truck-mounted hot water extraction for large carpet areas. Lobbies, corridors, function rooms, restaurant dining areas. For a typical hotel corridor, we work overnight and the carpet is dry by morning. We also apply stain protection treatments that extend the time between cleans.

What if we need you during service?
Call 07985 505061. For genuine emergencies during trading hours, we respond. We carry the equipment and products needed for most common hospitality incidents. We’re discreet, fast, and we understand that your guests come first.
Can you help with odour problems?
Yes. Persistent odours in hotel rooms, restaurant dining areas, pub carpets, kitchen areas. We use hydroxyl generators (safe for occupied spaces) and ozone treatment (for unoccupied spaces) to neutralise odours at source. Common jobs include stale cigarette smoke in hotel rooms, drain odour in restaurants, and pet odour in dog-friendly accommodation.
