Specialist Cleaning Equipment

Specialist Cleaning Equipment

The difference between a good clean and a proper restoration often comes down to equipment. A domestic carpet cleaner from Argos won’t remove biohazard contamination from subfloor timber. A household dehumidifier won’t dry out a flooded ground floor in Fishponds.

Our specialist cleaning equipment is industrial-grade, professionally maintained, and purpose-built for the work we do. Here’s what we bring to your property and why it matters.

Industrial Dehumidifiers

What they do: Pull moisture out of the air and building materials after water damage. Our units extract up to 50 litres per day, running continuously until the structure hits target moisture levels.

Why domestic versions don’t cut it: A home dehumidifier from Screwfix might pull 10 litres a day in ideal conditions. After a burst pipe or flood, you need to dry plaster, timber, concrete, and insulation. Domestic units can’t generate enough airflow or extraction to prevent mould growth, which starts within 24-48 hours of water exposure. Our Dri-Eaz and Ebac commercial units are designed for exactly this kind of structural drying.

HEPA Air Scrubbers

What they do: Filter airborne particles down to 0.3 microns. That captures mould spores, dust from biohazard cleaning, fine particulates from fire damage, and volatile organic compounds.

Why domestic versions don’t cut it: A standard air purifier filters room air slowly. HEPA air scrubbers cycle the entire air volume of a room multiple times per hour. During trauma cleans and mould remediation, airborne contamination is invisible but dangerous. Our air scrubbers create negative pressure environments, stopping contaminated air from spreading to clean areas of the building. Most domestic air purifiers can’t do that.

Ozone Generators

What they do: Produce ozone gas (O3) that breaks down odour molecules at a chemical level. We use them for smoke damage, decomposition odours, pet contamination, and cannabis grow house remediation.

Why domestic versions don’t cut it: Consumer ozone machines produce low concentrations. They might mask a smell temporarily. Professional units like our Uvonair generators flood a sealed space with concentrated ozone, oxidising the organic compounds that cause persistent odours. The room must be unoccupied during treatment. This isn’t a plug-in air freshener. It’s a controlled chemical process.

Thermal Foggers

What they do: Heat a deodorising solution into a dense fog that penetrates fabrics, carpets, wall cavities, and soft furnishings. The fog reaches places that spraying and wiping can’t.

Why domestic versions don’t cut it: There is no domestic equivalent. You can’t buy a thermal fogger in B&Q. These are professional tools that require training to operate safely. We use them after fire damage, when smoke particles have embedded into every porous surface in a property. The fogging agent bonds with smoke residue and neutralises it. One proper fogging treatment does what weeks of airing out and spraying Febreze never will.

Hydroxyl Generators

What they do: Produce hydroxyl radicals that destroy airborne bacteria, viruses, and odour molecules. Unlike ozone, hydroxyl treatment is safe for occupied spaces.

Why domestic versions don’t cut it: Again, no domestic version exists. Hydroxyl generators are used in hospitals, disaster recovery, and specialist cleaning. We deploy them when a property needs continuous air treatment but can’t be vacated. They’re slower than ozone but safe to run with people present. Useful during extended hoarding clearances and mould remediation in Bristol properties where the occupant hasn’t moved out.

Industrial Extractors

What they do: Remove water, cleaning solution, and debris from carpets, hard floors, and upholstery using high-powered suction. Our truck-mounted and portable extractors operate at pressures that domestic machines can’t match.

Why domestic versions don’t cut it: A Vax carpet cleaner might shift surface dirt. Our Prochem and Ninja extractors work at 200+ PSI, pushing hot cleaning solution deep into carpet fibres and then extracting it along with embedded soil, bacteria, and allergens. The difference is visible immediately. Carpets dry faster too, because our machines remove far more moisture on each pass.

Proper extraction matters.

Moisture Meters

What they do: Measure moisture content in walls, floors, timber, and plaster. We use pin-type and pinless meters to map water damage across a property and track drying progress.

Why domestic versions don’t cut it: Cheap moisture meters give rough readings on the surface. Professional Protimeter and Tramex meters measure moisture at depth, distinguishing between surface dampness and deep structural saturation. After a flood in a Victorian terrace in Clifton, knowing the moisture content 20mm into a lime plaster wall is the difference between drying it properly and watching it grow black mould six weeks later.

Thermal Imaging Cameras

What they do: Show temperature variations across surfaces, revealing hidden moisture, water ingress paths, and insulation failures. We use FLIR cameras to find water damage that isn’t visible to the naked eye.

Why domestic versions don’t cut it: Phone attachment thermal cameras have low resolution and limited temperature sensitivity. Our professional FLIR units detect differences of 0.1 degrees Celsius, which is enough to spot a damp patch behind a dry-looking wall or trace a leak path across a ceiling void. Insurance loss adjusters expect this level of documentation.

Submersible Pumps

What they do: Remove standing water from flooded basements, cellars, and ground floors. Our pumps shift thousands of litres per hour.

Why domestic versions don’t cut it: By the time you’ve ordered a pump from Amazon, the water has been sitting for days. We carry submersible pumps on every flood response. They handle dirty water, debris, and silt. A small domestic pump clogs. Ours don’t. Speed matters with flood damage. Every hour of standing water increases the cost of restoration.

SkyVac Systems

What they do: Clean gutters, high-level surfaces, and hard-to-reach areas from ground level using a powerful vacuum with a carbon fibre pole system reaching up to 12 metres.

Why domestic versions don’t cut it: Ladders are slow, dangerous, and limited. SkyVac systems let us clean guttering, fascias, and high ceilings without scaffolding or cherry pickers. The integrated camera shows us exactly what we’re cleaning. For commercial properties in Bristol city centre, where access is restricted and working at height requires risk assessments, SkyVac is the professional solution.

Why Equipment Matters

We’ve invested heavily in specialist cleaning equipment because the jobs we take on demand it. Trauma cleans, flood restoration, mould remediation, and biohazard decontamination can’t be done properly with consumer-grade tools.

Our kit is serviced regularly, PAT tested, and transported in dedicated vehicles from our base at 290-294 Southmead Rd, Bristol BS10 5EN. We’ve been building this equipment inventory over 25 years of specialist cleaning work in Bristol.
